Ladies of Gold Bar, Which calf in your calf crop are you most impressed with and why? That is what makes pasture walks interesting.

On Friday May 9th, we made the trip into Regina to meet with Chris Lees. We toured the Allan Blair Cancer Centre at the Pasqua Hospital where Chris and Tina's story is featured on the wall. We then met up with Nora Yeates from the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan and had a wonderful (although emotional) time telling her the story of Jigger and the Gold-Bar Girls relationship with the one-and-only Tina Lees.
The cattle industry is one great big family and we are so proud of Kaycee and her accomplishments with C&T Jigger 10F - but this might be the greatest one yet.Kaycee Buchanan has a passion for cattle. Hailing from Caronport and active in the family farm, she meets many other cattle enthusiasts from across Saskatchewan. One of those families is Chris and Tina Lees of Arcola, SK. During a photography session with the Lees, Kaycee's Mom spotted a unique 6 month old heifer and knew they just had to have her. They purchased "Jigger" and the rest is history.
Jigger quickly became a show ring star under the care of Kaycee, earning Championship titles at nearly every show over the next two years. Recently, Jigger's genetics have been highly sought after so Kaycee offered up the right to flush Jigger and a package of embryos at auction.
Kaycee and Tina bonded over Jigger but sadly, Tina passed away on August 28, 2023 after her valiant battle with cancer. To honour their friendship and keep Tina's memory alive, Kaycee has donated $1,000 to the Regina Cancer Patient Lodge through the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan. A heartfelt gift in memory of someone who meant so much.
